  • So happy to have you! With a first time massage it its important to come at least 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork and have a discussion about your needs for the massage and take payment. The physical massage starts at the scheduled appointment time so that is why you come a little early for the greeting period. I will let you know about what to expect during your massage. At any time during a massage you can ask for more or less pressure, you can let me know if something doesn’t feel right for you ie. moving a limp or working on a particular area. This is your time and you have a voice. I will give you directions on how I would like you to be on the table (face up or face down or laying on your side). I will leave the room so you can undress privately and get on the table. Do you take off your underwear or leave it on? It is your choice. Whatever makes you comfortable. You will be professionally draped for the massage meaning that only what I am working on will be undraped.

  • If you feel like you are coming down with a cold or flu or are currently sick please reschedule. If you have an unknown rash or possibly contagious skin condition please reschedule. Also if you have been exposed to covid please reschedule until you know if you have contracted it or not.

  • Life happens. I know we can’t predict when we have sickness, emergencies, car troubles etc. Just shoot me a text or give me a call before your appointment time and I will take you off the schedule and try to fill the space. If last minute cancellations start occurring regularly we can have a chat about it. I have office policies about this but I also know we are human with unexpected things going on in our lives. If you do not show up to your appointment without communication to me before your scheduled time you will be charged for your missed appointment.

  • I am also human with unexpected illnesses, injuries, emergencies, and car troubles etc. I try not to cancel appointments but if I do its for a good reason. I will always let you know before your scheduled appointment time.

  • The expectations vs reality of massage need to be understood. What massage can do for you will take time. You have been in your body for however many years you have been on this planet and I am only seeing you for an hour appointment or a longer. We can’t undo a lifetime of living. Massage can help assist your body and muscles to relax, encourage muscles to loosen, explore range of motion of joints and see where in your body is holding tension and encourage it to let go. Massage very helpful and yes in some cases resolve issues. Self care and preventative measures will help over all in gaining grater benefits. Sometime the expectations of what massage can do exceeds reality. There will be times massage isn’t the answer, that seeing your primary care physician should be priority.
